Supraspinous fossa

The area above the spine of the scapula, viewed posteriorly.

Infraspinous fossa

The area below the spine of the scapula, viewed posteriorly.

Humerus

The bone that articulates with the scapula.

Humerus-Scapula joint

A ball and socket joint, which is triaxial allowing movement in sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes.

Head of humerus

The part of the humerus that forms the articular ball in the shoulder joint.

Anatomical neck (humerus)

A feature of the humerus.

Greater tubercle (humerus)

A more lateral prominence on the humerus.

Lesser tubercle (humerus)

A prominence on the humerus.

Intertubercular groove (humerus)

A groove located between the tubercles of the humerus.

Surgical neck (humerus)

A feature of the humerus.

Deltoid tuberosity

The site on the humerus where the deltoid muscle attaches.

Humerus shaft

The long part of the humerus bone.

Lateral supracondylar ridge (humerus)

A ridge on the lateral side of the humerus above the condyle.

Radial fossa (humerus)

A fossa that accepts the head of the radius.

Coronoid fossa (humerus)

A fossa that accepts the ulna.

Capitulum (humerus)

The part of the humerus that articulates with the head of the radius.

Trochlea (humerus)

The part of the humerus that articulates with the ulna.

Olecranon fossa (humerus)

The fossa that accepts the olecranon process during full extension of the elbow.

Ulna-Humerus joint

A hinge joint, which is uniaxial and moves in one plane (sagittal) along a frontal axis, allowing flexion and extension.

Olecranon process (ulna)

A process of the ulna that fits into the olecranon fossa of the humerus.

Trochlear notch (ulna)

A notch on the ulna that articulates with the trochlea of the humerus.

Coronoid process (ulna)

A process on the ulna.

Ulna shaft

The long part of the ulna bone.

Styloid process (ulna)

The pointy process at the distal end of the ulna.

Radial notch (ulna)

A notch on the ulna where the head of the radius articulates.

Head of ulna

The distal part of the ulna.
