The Bolshevik Revolution

The Bolshevik was lead by Vladimir lenin whos wanted an communist state after nicholaist the seconded abdicated from the throne a temp gov was installed but vladimir was unhappy with this government and wanted to make it communist he lead fights between the red communist and the white old government but when the whites brought in oOutside support from other countries they spurred a strong sense of nationalist in the Russians who then sided with the Reds leading Vladimir laid into the leader of the new USSR

Vladimir Lenin

Vladimir lenin whos brother was killed for trying to over throw the temporary government has was inspired by communist ideas and was arrested and eventually thrown into jail in Siberia where he met his wife together they were exiled to switzerland where they worked to over throw ov and spread communist idea he became the leader of the union soviet socialist republic and lead wars against the reds and whites he eventually died in 1924

Joseph Stalin

After Vladimir linen died in 1924 Joseph Stalin takes control of the USSR  Joseph Stalin was originally Georgian and was a bright kid with an abusive father and a doting mother he joined the Bolshevik party and learned to have power through violence he governed the USSR in a totalitarian way with a strict Five-Year Plan that would increase the industrial Improvement of the USSR especially industry improving Transportation increasing farming output she was also communist and was very concerned about selling grain he used gulags and Farms to increase production of grain he was an atheist and very mistressful of those around him 

Totalitarian State

When the goverment has total control over everything that happened in the country ruleed by a dictator such as stalin

Holodomor

Lasted from 1932-33 russia forced the people of ukrain to farm grain in abundence since ukraian is know as the bread basket of Europe but refused them to keep anyof this grain causing them to starve and between 5-8 million ukrainians died .

Command Economy

The government controls all economics decisions and activity 

Five Year Plans

Stalin wanted to make russian and modern industrial power seeing as that was one of the main causes to them leaving the war he did this with his five year plan wtich included building heavy industry imporving transportation and increasing farming output 

Collectives

Staling took individual farms and forced farmers to work together to grow crops many farmers resisted this

Kulaks

Were wealthy farmers whos farm land were taken and when the risited working in the collectives they were sent to forced labor camps.

Gulags

Were forced labore camps where risttores protesters or emnemys of staling were sent they spent lots of their time mining gold and nd work towards improving stalins 5 year plan many prisores never left the Gulags and some even turned into small cities

Russification

Staling wanted all people of the USSR even though they were from different cultures and background to follow russian ideas and cultures so he forced this onto them

Fall of the Qing Dynasty

The last dynast the Qing Dynast was ruled by a small bot but mostly it was mostly ruled by his mother who the people didn't like because she would spend money frivolously in 1911 the Qing Dynast fellWhen the qing dynasty fell there was a power struggle between the communist party and the nationalist party

Chiang Kai-Shek

Was the leader of the natationlist party and wanted things to stay as they were when there were still dynasties and for china to be ruled by elite at first he wont the power struggle between the communist and nationalist forced communist to the north in the long march after the japansist invasion and WW2 he lost the sturggle and fled to tawian where he establish a new nationalist society among the natives

Mao Zedong

Mao Zedong was the leader of the communist party he wanted to distrubuit wealth to the poor but during the first power struggle pre japanese invasion he lost and was forced to north China after the Japanese invasion and WW2 tensions between the partys started again an becomes the leader of china

Long March

The long march was an civil war between the nationalist party and the communist party where the communist party was pushed by the nationalist party from the Ruijnjiangx Providence to the Yanian Shaanxi province they walked for 6000 miles through 18 mountains ranges and 24 rivers 90000 communist soldiers died

Japanese Invasion

In 1930 Japan who already had colnized korea invaded china and commited terrible crimes against the chinies people but were finally defeated in WW2

Nanjing Massacre

Took place in 1937 and lasted for 6weeks they killed 200,000-300,000 civillans including children and 60,000-80,00 women were raped japen has apoliges for this present day but also claims that they deaths were not that high and will not teach about this in schools.

Taiwan

A small island of the coast on China  Chiang Kai-Shek fled china and became the leader of that counrty first it was filled with native people who still live there today in small fishing villages  and the USA supports them because they are not communist

People’s Republic of China vs Republic of China

The People's Republic of china is communist and was founded by mao Zedong and believes that the republic of china is actually apart of the people republic of china found on main land china The rebublice of china is nationalist and was founded by Vhiang Kai-Shek and is now know as taiwan and believes they are it own country

Adolf Hitler

Hiler was born in austria but fought for germany in the war he also travled to venin were the german poulation strongly belived they were better than other ethnicities fueling his antisymetice values he became the leader of the national Socialist German workers party where he blamed jew for the failed war effort and fought against people he deemed political enemies he tried to over throw the Weimar Republic but failed and was imprisend but was still treated well when he got out he contunoed to rally support for his NAzi party but instead of over throwing the goverment he tried to join it the great deprssion helped bring people to his was of thinkin and in an attempt to prevent communism and controll hilter parlment elceted him chaclor but he begon to rule as a dictator encouraging capitalism but bring factories under government rule. He also began deporting jews from germany and terrising their bussnies

Mein Kampf

When hitler was arrested he wrote his Mein Kampf or his struggles up in jail saying what he wanted to happen to germany his hopes and dreams and what exactly he was going to do when he came to power but it was mostly disregarded

Fascism vs Communism

Facism is rooted in nationality and the senses of an us vs them it appeals to thoes of higher classes and promotes capitalism it is extremely milteristic and and everything is controlled by the government while it finding individualism harmful to the cause communism also found indviuality harmful and was extremely violend in ther approach and very government controlled but they promoted a classless society disliked capitalism and supported the workers also this was favored by thoes of low and working classes

Weimar Republic

the Weimar republic was made after WW1 and was seen as responsible for the teieay of vessial by the german people it was a demcarte government that had a parliament run by an chancellor women also had the right to vote it also had rich cultur during this time though this cultural art and music often critsized the republic however it was faced with challenges such as inflation political extremist and was also weakened by the number of small parties within the goverment lots of german people including hitler didnt like the new gov

Third Reich

The first two Reich were times of great German prosperity lead by strong leaders Hitler said he was going to bring around the third Reich  where the german race would domanite eastern Europe for thousands of years

Gestapo 

This was Hitlers secret police that enforced hilters ideals and and dealt with people hitler deemed trators or oppisition.

Nuremberg Laws

These laws prevented jewish people from being citizens of germeny while also sevierly restricting their lives forceing them to only marry other jew and prevented them from holding goverment jobs or jobs in medicen or law and also prevented them from going to german universities or school.
