The Declaration of faith; the first pillar of Islam.

Salah

Prayer; the second pillar of Islam.

Wudu

Ritual washing performed before prayer.

Zakah

Giving to charity; the third pillar of Islam.

Sawm

Fasting; the fourth pillar of Islam.

Hajj

Pilgrimage to Mecca; the fifth pillar of Islam.

Muhammad

The last prophet in Islam.

Mosque

The Place of Worship for Muslims.

Imam

The religious leader in the mosque.

Qur'an

Muslim holy book containing messages from God to Prophet Muhammad.

Eid ul-Fitr

A festival in Islam which marks the end of Ramadan; also known as the Feast of Breaking fast.

Eid ul-Adha

A festival in Islam which marks the remembrance of Ibrahim's obedience to sacrifice his son to Allah.

Monotheistic Religion

Belief in only one God.

Tawhid

The belief in one, indivisible God
