Why is immigration important, and how does it benefit Canada economically?

Canada has one of the lowest birth rates in the world. Without immigration, we would have a declining population. Immigration is helping our economy because we need more people to fill jobs.

It allows provinces to request/nominate the types of immigrants it wants and the numbers of each type. *Immigrants with specific skills* It is different for each region. It also lets Quebec choose French-speaking immigrants.
