Intelligence as Multiple Abilities
Spearman’s two factor model: g= general, overarching intelligence. s= specific level, skill based intelligence
Thurstone re-examined spearman’s general intelligence tests and found 7 primary mental abilities
Hierarchical Model of Intelligence

ex: hockey player within a line of players within a team of players
Fluid & Crystallized Intelligence
1: a type of intelligence that is used to adapt to new situations and solve new problems without relying on previous knowledge
2: a form of intelligence that relies on extensive experience and knowledge and, therefore, tends to be relatively stable and robust
Multiple Intelligence Gone Awry
Gardeners Multiple Intelligence Model: proposed eight different forms of intelligence exist
Led to the popular idea of learning styles (visual learners learn more with visual materials)
