What is bipap used for?
used to put pressure into patients lungs, not invasive, and used for COPD or sleep apnea
What is high flow nasal cannula used for?
delivers warm humidified oxygen to patient, it is stronger than nasal cannula but not as critical compared to bipap
What is a ventilator used for?
patient cannot breathe on their own and requires a ventilator in order to breath, OFTEN NEEDS INTUBATION

Med surge and PCU: telemetry, basic medical care, medications that do not require titration (Med surge MAY include it)

vital monitors, high delivery O2 delivery devices, sometimes receive medications that require titration, vasopresins, can have ventilated patients
