Tourism
A temporary movement of people to a location or place, involving the business of providing services such as transport, accommodation, or entertainment for holidaymakers.
Affluence
Greater wealth that allows individuals to afford and spend more on holidays, contributing to the growth of the tourism business.
Mobility
The ability of people to travel more easily, facilitated by faster and cheaper transportation, making vacations more attractive.
Butler Model
A model describing the stages of tourism development in a destination, including Discovery, Growth, Success, Problem/Stagnation, Rejuvenation, or Decline.
Thanatourism
Tourism that involves visiting places associated with death or suffering, which includes various subcategories like genocide tourism and grave tourism.
Medical Tourism
Traveling to another country for medical treatment, often due to lower costs or availability of procedures not permitted at home.
Mass Tourism
When large numbers of people visit the same resort or location, often during peak seasons, typically organized by tour companies.
Carrying Capacity
The maximum population size that an environment can sustain indefinitely without degrading the natural resources.
Linear Economy
A traditional model of production where resources are extracted, transformed into products used, and then discarded as waste.
Circular Economy
A sustainable economic model focused on reusing, recycling, and maintaining resources in use for as long as possible.

A state with significant global influence characterized by its economic, military, technological, and cultural strength.
Transnational Corporations (TNCs)
Companies that operate in multiple countries, often exerting considerable influence on global trade and economies.
Sustainable Management
Practices aimed at ensuring that tourism and other industries develop in ways that are environmentally responsible and economically viable.
Medical Tourism Impacts
While medical tourism can provide cheaper treatment and increased local revenue, it can also lead to exploitation of labor and high patient turnover affecting care quality.
