total of 100 members-2 per state-the leader of the senate is the president of the US

Chuck Grassley-must be 30 years old, a us citizen for 9 years, a resident to the state he or she wants to represent

House of Representatives

amount of representatives depends on population of state, currently there are 435 members, leader of the house is called "speaker of the house"
