Colloid

A mixture containing small, undissolved particles that do not settle out.

Mixture

A combination of two or more substances that are not chemically combined

solution

A mixture that forms when one substance dissolves another.

heterogeneous

(adj.) composed of different kinds, diverse, not uniformly mixed together (so you can still see all the individual parts)

homogeneous

of the same kind; alike, mixed uniformly(looks all the same...cannot see individual parts)

Suspension

A mixture in which particles can be seen and easily separated by settling or filtration

aerosol

A type of colloid in which tiny particles are suspended in a gas, creating a mist or haze.
