Global
Referring to the entire world.
National
Relating to a specific country or state.
Regional
Pertaining to a specific region within a country or state.
Local
Relating to a specific county, city, or census tract.
Scale
The relationship between a distance on a map and the corresponding distance on the ground.
State
Geographic areas organized into one political unit.
Small Scale Map
A map that shows a large portion of the Earth's surface but has less detail in the data it displays.
Large Scale Map
A map that shows a smaller portion of the Earth's surface but has more detail in the data it displays.
