What is motion?
Relative change of an object in space time
Every motion is relative
How is motion measured?
To measure motion, we need:
A reference point
A ruler to measure spatial change (distance)]
A clock to measure the temporal change (time)

t
What are some examples of scalars?
distance
speed
mass
energy
What are some examples of a vector?
displacement
velocity
acceleration
force
momentum
What are the basic laws of vectors?
Any two or more vectors with,
Equal in magnitude (same size)
Parellel in direction
are equal to each other
Any two vectors parallel to each other but opposite in direction (anti-parallel) has opposite signs.

q
when do you add vectors?
if two vectors are parallel and in the same direction, you can add them just like scalars while maintaining the correct direction
When do you subtract vectors?
if two vectors are parallel and in the opposite direction you can subtract them just like scalars while maintaining the correct direction

a

x

What is scalar?
A quantity described only by magnitude
What is a vector?
A quantity described by a magnitude and a direction
What is speed?
Change in distance per unit time
What is the formula of average speed?

What is velocity?
The rate of change of displacement
What is the average velocity formula?
