  • community-based & church central settlements

  • Native American interaction- Wampanoags saved Pilgrims, later Metacom’s War (NA try to get rid of settlers, leads to death for NA and Covenant Chain to protect fur trade)

  • Religion- Puritans for ideal society (vs. Anne Hutchinson) and Pilgrim separatists
