Manage Project Knowledge
The process of using existing knowledge and creating new knowledge to contribute to the overall learning of the entire business.
Lesson Learned
Capturing lessons learned throughout the project, not just at the end, and documenting them in the lesson learned register.
Lesson Learned Register
The main output of the Manage Project Knowledge process, used to capture lessons learned throughout the project.
Explicit Knowledge
Knowledge that is formally learned, documented, and shared, often obtained from books, documents, and records.
Tacit Knowledge
Knowledge that exists inside of one's head, compiled with years of experience and critical thinking.
Knowledge Management
Sharing of knowledge between stakeholders on the project to build an environment where stakeholders can share information through workshops, meetings, and networking.
Information Management
Capturing and learning new things, storing, collecting, and distributing that information, and destroying it when it is no longer useful.
