Net force
Sum of all forces acting on an object
Newton's 1st law
A body will remain at rest unless acted upon by an external net force .
Newton's 2nd law
When an external net force acts on a object ,the object will accelerate in the direction of the force , acceleration is directly proportional to the force and indirectly proportional to the mass.
Newton's 3rd law
When object A exerts a force on object B , object B also exert a force on object B.
Friction
Force that opposes motion of an object.
Tension force
Force exerted in terms of using : ropes , strings
Static friction
A force that resists the tendency of movement of a stationary object
Kinetic friction
A force that resists a tendency of motion of a moving object.
Formula for Newton's 1st law
Fnet = 0
Formula for Newton's second law
Fnet = m.a
SI unit for mass
Kilogram (kg)
SI unit for force
Newton (N)
SI unit for acceleration
M.s^ -2
Net force is = 0, what happens to acceleration, motion ?
Acceleration = 0
No motion will occur.
Normal force
Force in which the surface is perpendicular to the object.
