An important part of the brain that sits anterior and inferior to the thalamus, involved in many regulatory functions.
Mammillary Bodies
Structures in the hypothalamus that serve as a relay station for smell and are also involved in memory.
Infundibulum
A stalk-like structure that connects the hypothalamus to the pituitary gland.
Oxytocin
A hormone produced in the hypothalamus that is involved in childbirth, milk letdown, and social bonding.
