Momentum
A physical quantity that is defined as the product of an object's mass and velocity
Impulse
The force applied over time which changes an objects momentum
Conservation of Momentum
In an isolated system in which a collision occurs, the momentum of the objects involved remans constant (is conserved) unless acted upon by an external force
Elastic
Both momentum & kinetic energy are conserved
n these collisions, 2 or more objects make contact with each other but do not stick together
Inelastic
No kinetic energy is conserved
These collisions occur when the objects stick together
Impulse-Momentum Theoremm
The impulse acting on the object is equal to the change in momentum of the object
