The Cotton Production. This resulted in the formation of plantations and the import of slaves to the island. Cotton became an extremely valuable industry for Caymanian until its rapid decline in about 1810.

By 1802 the population grew to what size?
933 people. The biggest settlement was still Bodden Town with 374 people (families and slaves), George Town with 211 people, Southwest Sound with 212 people, followed by Prospect and Little Pedro, and then more families in West Bay, Boatswain Bay, East End, Franks Sound and North Side.
