Airport Master Plan (AMP)
A long-range plan that outlines the development needs of an airport over 20 years.
Airport Layout Plan (ALP)
A graphical representation of existing and proposed airport facilities, ensuring compliance withFAA standards.
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
A U.S. law that requires federal agencies to assess the environmental effects of their proposed actions before making decisions.
Runway Design Code (RDC)
A code used to determine design standards of runways, based on the characteristics of the Design Aircraft.
Displaced Threshold
A runway threshold located some distance down the runway, often to improve safety and visibility for landing aircraft.
Runway Protection Zone (RPZ)
A trapezoidal area off the runway ends meant to enhance the protection of people and property on the ground.
Categorically Excluded (CATEX)
A category of actions that do not individually or cumulatively have a significant effect on the human environment, exempting them from further environmental review.
Environmental Assessment (EA)
A document prepared to determine whether an environmental impact statement (EIS) or a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) is required.
Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan
A plan required to reduce and control oil spills that may reach navigable waters.
Common Use Technology (CUTE)
A shared use of airport facilities by multiple airlines to optimize passenger processing.
