DISTINGUISHED FEATURES OF IBADAH

1) Divinely-ordained

• It is Allah who guides man on how he should worship Him

• the source of Ibadah in Islam is derived form the relevation ( Quran & Sunnah)

2) Direct link with Allah S.W.T

• In Islam, there’s no need to the intercession(syafaat) of any (intermediaries) to plead to God or seek forgiveness on behalf of others

3) Non-confinement to specific places 

• the  acts of Ibadah, both specific & general are not confined to certain designated place or activities

4) Embracing totality of life

• Islam considers every virtous actions which has been sincerely performed to carry out the commandments of Allah S.W.T

Free from severe hardship

• Allah S.W.T doesn’t impose on His servants an obligation to perform an act of Ibadah beyond His abilities

PRE-REQUISITES OF MAKING HUMAN ACTIONS INTO IBADAH

1) Ordained by the Shariah

• An act will be considered an Ibadah in Islam if it is recognized by the Shariah principles

2) Sincerity of Intention

• perform all the works with a sincere intention of seeking the pleasure of Allah S.WT

Beneficial

• activities that safeguard & promote Maqasid Shariah particularly the preservation of al-Daruyyat al-Khamsah (the five fundamental values) namely faith, life, intellect , lineage & property

FULFILLING ETHCAL VALUES & ISLAMIC VIRTUES 

• One’s attitude & behavior tend to be in line with his faith if they have a close relationship with God 

Fulfilling Religious Obligations

• Every Muslim must make sure that his job does not prevent him from performing religious obligations towards Allah S.W.T
