linear transformation
y=Ax
a function is called a linear transformation if there exists an n x m matrix such that
T(x)=Ax
a transformation is linear if and only if
the distributive rules apply to the transformation
distribution vector
components add up to 1 and all components are positive or 0
transition/stochastic matrix
square matrix with distribution vector volumns
if A is a transition matrix and x is a distribution vector, then Ax
will be a distribution vector as well
