Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
A disorder in aging men where the prostate becomes enlarged, leading to problems with urination and emptying the bladder.
Breast Cancer
A type of cancer that originates in breast tissue.
Cervical Cancer
Cancer that starts in the cells lining the cervix.
Chlamydia
A sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by bacteria.
Endometrial Cancer
Cancer that begins in the endometrium, the lining of the uterus.
Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
The inability to achieve or maintain a penile erection.
Genital Herpes
An incurable STI caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) or type 2 (HSV-2).
Genital HPV Infection
A sexually transmitted infection caused by human papillomavirus.
Glands
Organs that produce and secrete chemicals called hormones.
Gonads
The male and female sexual reproductive glands.
Gonorrhea
A sexually transmitted infection caused by bacteria.
Hormones
Chemical substances produced by the body that control numerous body functions.
Menopause
The end of menstruation; confirmed when a woman has had no menstrual period for 12 months.
Menstruation
The shedding of the uterine lining occurring about every 28 days; also called a period.
Ovarian Cancer
Cancer that begins in the ovaries or, in some cases, the fallopian tubes.
Ovum
The female sex cell or egg.
Prostate Cancer
Cancer that begins in the prostate gland.
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
Infections spread by sexual contact; signs and symptoms are not always apparent.
Sperm
The male sex cells.
Syphilis
A sexually transmitted infection caused by bacteria.
Testicular Cancer
Cancer that begins in the testes.
Trichomoniasis
A sexually transmitted infection caused by protozoa (single-celled organisms).
Vaginitis
Inflammation of the vagina.
