Explains for how different events depend on cultural upbringing

Biopsychology
Studies the brain and nervous system
Focuses on immediate biological correlates/causes of behaviour
Evolutionary psychology
Studies long-term biological mechanisms of behaviour
E.g. common behaviours across human cultures = common genetic cause (smiling correlates with positive emotions)
Sensation and perception
Focuses on how our senses influences how we interpret the world
E.g. what we see can impact our auditory system, even if the sound remains the same (YANNY vs LAUREL)
Cognitive psychology
Understanding the mind and mental process behind behaviour
Studies cognitions, thoughts, and their relationship to our experiences and our actions
Developmental psychology
Study of development across of lifespan focusing on psychological traits/behaviours
Studies cognitive skills, moral reasoning, social behaviour, and other psychological attributes
