Acrylic, Plastic laminates, Thermally fused foils
Solid surfacing plastics
Used for countertops, used for sinks, can be softened and bent with heat, made with acrylic and polyester
Engineered stone materials
Made with natural quartz and polyester, resistant to burning and staining, used in food service and healthcare, resistant to some chemicals
High pressure laminate
Sold as thin sheets that can be put onto a substrate
Low pressure laminate
Applied to a particle board substrate that has already been cut to size
Thermofoil
Don’t need edge banding, can create soft corners on objects
Plastic laminate
Resin soaked paper, has a variation in pattern, thickness, and resin
Thermoset
Plastics that have a set shape and cannot be altered after production
Thermoplastic
Plastic that has been softened by heat so that it can later be reheated and bent

Used for substrates, furniture and fixtures
