Competitive Exclusion

Local elimination of inferior competitors—can result when 2 species use the same limited resources

Ecological Niche

Specific set of biotic and abiotic environmental resources it uses

Resource Partitioning

Differentiation of niches that enables similar species to coexist in a community

Character Displacement

Tendency for characteristics to diverge more in sympatric than in allopatric populations of two species

Exploitation
