Monologue
A lengthy speech delivered by a character in a play where they are talking to a group of people
Soliloquy
A type of monologue where a character speaks their thoughts aloud, typically when alone on stage, to convey internal conflicts or emotions.
Aside
When a character says something that is only intended for the audience or for a few other characters to hear
Foil
A character who contrasts with another character, usually the protagonist, to highlight particular qualities of the other character.
Stage Directions
Information about where actors move on stage, and provide other directions to the cast or crew, including sound effects and lighting
Prologue/Epilogue
A small part added to the beginning or end of a play or book which introduces and concludes the story

Type of irony when the opposite of what is expected occurs
