When using this word, you are referring to objects being in a certain location such as if you were to say “I saw the giraffes there taking pictures, they were at the zoo!” A tip to use in order to remember the specific use for this word is to think of the words “here” and there” as complete opposites as when you refer to something that is here, it is immediately located as “there’’ refers to a location that's further away.

The word their  is defined as : belonging to or associated with the people or things previously mentioned or easily identified. This word is used to refer to an object or accessory that someone may own or have entitlement to.  An example for this word can be, “ The calico critters couldn't leave without their gardening tools.” A way to remember this word is to think of ownership when referring to a person or group of people.

The word they’re  is defined as : they are.  This word is used to refer to a group of people being at a certain location or doing an activity. An example for this word would be, “They're having a picnic to celebrate their friends birthday.” A way to remember the word they're can be to think of the words “ they” and “are” as being combined into a sandwich that were squeezed together in order to form a new word/ingredient.
