Development for treatment of mental disorders
Absence from work costs the economy around 15 billion pounds a year and a recent report shows 1/3 of absences are caused by mental disorders like depression and anxiety
Psychological treatment has allowed for the use of SSRIs to treat depression and OCD and psychotherapy like systematic desensitisation
This means more people can be treated and return to the workforce and increase economic benefit
