What is sovergienty
The authority of a state to govern itself independlty and make its own lawswithout interfernce from other nations
What is a treaty
formal legally binding agreemet bt 2 or more ountries that define their rigjts and obligations under international law
Jurisdiction
The legal power of a state or international court to make decisions , enforce laws abd judge cases within a certain area or over certain matters
State immunity
The principle that a sovergien state and it’s officials cannot e sued in another countries courts without it’s consent

Basic rights & freedoms that belong to every person , protected by international alw ( eg right to life , reedom from torture ect )
International Humanitarian law
A set of rules that limit the effect of armed conflct protecting people who are are not participating in hostliities and restricting the means of warefare

The principles that a states borders and territory should not be violated or altered by force from other states
International criminal court
The branch of law that holds individuals personally responsible for serious crime eg. genocide war crimes and crimes agaisnt humanity
Non refoulement
A rule that forbids countries from sending refugees and asylum seekers back to a placewhere they would face persecution or danger
Jus cogens
fundemental principles of international law that are universally binding and cannot be violated by any state eg. prohibitation of salvery/torture.
