Introduction
Collaboration:-
The process of two or more people, entities or organizations working together to complete a
task or achieve a goal.
Collaboration is similar to cooperation
Team:-
A group of people who are handling an issue that impacts the operations of a process.
Also defined as a group of individuals working together to achieve their goal.
Usually composed of:
1- Team Leader
2- Team Member

Make sure that team members understand their duties and are comfortable with the
direction of the project, serves as a liaison between the team and external stakeholders
and sometimes between team members.
Stages of team development/growth: (Tuckman’s model for small
group development)
Stage 1: Forming:
During the first stage, the members try to break the ice, set their goals and delegate tasks.
Discussions focus on how to accomplish the tasks and the information and resources needed.
This is a period of testing to find out what kind of behavior is appropriate.
Members tend to defer to the leader for guidance.
Team leaders provide direction, oriente the team, establish meeting roles and responsibilities.
Stage 2: Storming
This second stage is where conflict or polarization around interpersonal issues happens.
Members try to prove their point of view.
Emotions fly high, especially if the group is under pressure to achieve results.
Members realize that the task is more difficult than expected.
To move forward, leaders need to manage the conflict-not by suppressing it, but by using it
to energize the team.
Leaders should reinforce ground rules and team building.
Conflict resolution contribute to team cohesion by openly addressing conflicts and finding
mutually beneficial solutions.

Stage 3: Norming:
Storm calms down
In this stage, resistance is overcome and cohesiveness develops.
Group members develop close ties and a strong identity with the team. There is no egos.
Group members develop feelings of mutual respect, harmony, and trust. Each team member
is allowed express his ideas
members' roles become more clear
Leaders need to challenge team members to continue to grow
Stage 4: Performing:
In the fourth stage, the team works smoothly toward achieving the goal and is very
productive, it is the most productive stage
The team develops a functional but flexible structure and roles are interrelated. Interpersonal
conflicts are resolved and the group is highly task-oriented.
In this stage, the leader needs to develop mechanisms for sharing leadership responsibilities.
