Geography Malta is 122 square miles long. The Mediterranean Sea surrounds Malta. In the winter the temperature can go as low as 53℉ and in the summer it goes as high as 89℉. Industry/Natural Resources Malta’s main industries are online gaming, tourism and financial services. The main exports are medicines and chemicals and Malta's main imports are aircraft parts, consumer goods, vehicles and mineral fuels. Malta's natural resources are salt and limestone. Places to visit Blue Grotto is a network of six seaside caves. It is a natural attraction and is ideal for most boat trips to go there. Saluting Battery was built in 1566 historically to protect the Grand Harbour and later used to greet visiting ships. St.John’s Cathedral is a Baptist church with beautiful decorations in the church. It was built between 1573 and 1577. Fun facts Emma Muscat, who is a model and singer, was born in Malta in 1999. Britney Spears, who is a Pop singer, great-grandfather was Maltese. Malta has many extraordinary beaches. People & Culture The population of Malta is 549,454 million people and Malta's average life expectancy is 79.9 for males and 83.8 for women. The type of government is Republican. The political leaders are Spiteri Debono as the President and Robert Abela as the Prime Minister. The money Malta uses is the euro. The major religions are Roman Catholicism and the major languages spoken are English and Maltese. Traditional clothing is bodice and long skirt for the women and for the men beretta and a sidriga. Some traditional food is rabbit stew and fish pie. The holidays are new years, christmas, good friday and many more. Leisure Activities in Malta are boat trips, hiking and snorkeling.
