Response Allocation
Describes how a person distributes responses among available options in any given environment.
Matching Law
A principle stating that the relative rate of responding matches the relative rate of reinforcement.
Reinforcement Schedule
A protocol that determines how and when a reinforcement is delivered based on behavior.
Concurrent Schedules of Reinforcement
Two or more independent reinforcement schedules available at the same time.
Response Effort
The amount of effort required to engage in a particular behavior.
Reinforcer Magnitude
The size or intensity of the reinforcement provided for a behavior.
Preferences for Activities
The tendency for individuals to spend more time on certain activities over others.
Undermatching
When response allocation is less than proportional to reinforcement rates.
Overmatching
When response allocation is more than proportional to reinforcement rates.
Behavioral Allocation
The distribution of behavior across multiple options based on reinforcement.
F FR2
A fixed ratio reinforcement schedule providing reinforcement after every second response.
F FR4
A fixed ratio reinforcement schedule providing reinforcement after every fourth response.
Variable Interval Schedule
A reinforcement schedule that provides reinforcement after a varying amount of time has passed.
Human Behavior
The range of behaviors exhibited by humans, often unpredictable and influenced by various factors.
Behavior Change Procedures
Strategies used to modify behavior, including altering reinforcement rates and types.
Choice Behavior
The behavior exhibited when individuals select among available options.
