* ==nuclear families== : mother father and children living together
* ==single parent family== : 25% of families in the Uk are now single parent families because of the rise of divorce.
* ==same sex parent families==: headed by two men or two women
* ==extended family :== three generations living in the same house
* ==blended family :== two seperate families joined together

Catholic response to types of family

* The Catholic Church ==accept both nuclear and extended families== as they both live within the Catholic law.
* ==Single parent families need help== and are not sinful so should recieve support from the Catholic Church.
* The Church ==disapproves of same sex parent families== because a family should be headed by a man and a woman.
* The Church ==disapproves of blended family== as it is a result of remarriage( unless a parent is widowed)
