Name for the days following the Japanese conquest of Nanjing, China, when Japanese soldiers spent days killing and raping civilians and looting the city (1937)

During WWII, bombs were aimed specifically at civilian areas, thousands of children had to be evacuated to avoid the bombs and often became orphaned due to their parents falling victim to the bombings
