What are the beliefs of sin and what does this influence Christian’s to do
Christians belief all humans sin and believe it is any thought or action that separates humans from god (murder, envy, adultery)
influences Christian’s to live a morally good life as they know sin will separate them from god so they will try not to do wrong by following 10 commandments
Christian’s belief god may forgive sins if they confess wrongdoing as Jesus’ sacrifice allowed humans to be saved from sin if they follow gods law
Influences Christian’s to pray to god and confess wrongdoings and ask for forgiveness so they can rebuild their relationship with god

Holy Spirit
Christians believe that it was sent down after Jesus ascended to help diddiples carry on their mission 9make disciples of all nations) as I allowed them to speak in tongues showing its a source of guidance

Creation beliefs
FUNDAMENTALIST Christian’s believe that everything in the big al is literally true (iteralists) and believe that god did create the world in 6 days as god is omnipotent nd “nothing is impossible in god”
conservatives believe god created the world but believe he created it in a longer period of time as “yom” in te bible translates to long age, suggesting that god created the world over time - things evolved over time
Liberal Christian’s believes god created world but in a longer period of time and do not believe in the creation stor, only believe it to be a symbol to show gods omnipotence as their are inconsistencies such as: “let there be light” DAY ONE. “Let there be sun” DAY 4

The trinity and creation

Believe that this was when god came to earth (as Jesus) in both fully man form as was able to suffer and die but also fully god as was able to perform miracles

Believe that itv was the ultimate demonstration of gods omnibenevolence as Jesus who is god incarnate sacrificed his life for humanity and had to go through extreme suffering which shows his compassion/ agape for humans

Believe it was the ultimate demonstration of gods omnipotence as he performed a miracle 3 days after crucifixion by esurrecting Jesus from the dead

Ascension
Believe that before he ascended he met with disciples to tell them to carry on with his mission “go make disciples of ll nations” - he then ascended to heaven 4 days after resurrection to be with god in heaven.
Influences Christian’s to pray to Jesus as ascension proves Jesus was the son of god as he ascended to be with god in heaven
Believe that after Jesus ascended god sent down the Holy Spirit as a source of guidance but also to hep disciples carry on with Jesus mission as it allowed them to speak in tongues.

Salvation
Salvation through grace - believe god gave humans a free gift of unconditional love which men’s that all humans will be given the chance of having eternal life and to go to heaven by just believe in Jesus as Jesus died to ave humans from sin

Salvation through works - some believe the only way to go to heaven and have eternal life is by living a morally good life and doing good deeds like following 10 commandments.
Influences Christian’s to try no to sin and live a morally good life (follow religious laws) as in the bible it says they will be judged on their actions at end of life to determine if they will go to heaven.

Atonement
Believe jesus was the atoning sacrifice for humanities sin as his sacrifice removed original sin and restored the broken relationship with god

Judgement
Believe judement happens when they die or when Jesus comes to judge, they then will be sent to heaven or hell

Believe will be judged based on their actions and how they have behaved in life (followed religious laws or not) as know god is just so he will reward and punish people fairly

The afterlife
some believe in BODILY resurrection which is PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL - PHYSICAL BODY WILL BE Lost at death and will receive a new spiritual body when receive eternal life/ enter Heaven
Influences Christian’s to live a morally good life and not sin as they know god is just and will reward them with heaven only if behaved good.
Catholic/ Orthodox Church believe that the physical body is resurrected when die, but when received eternal life god will purify and transform body to where suffering doesnt exist.
Influences them to be less scared of death as they know when they die they will be resurrected to be with god.

Beliefs about heaven and hell
Christian’s believe heaven is a spiritual place to be with god in which suffering doesnt exist not exist and a chance to reconnect with lost loved ones
Influences Christian’s to feel comforted and less sad when a loved one dies as they know they will be resurrected like Jesus and taken o be with god in heaven
Some Christians believe that hell is a place of eternal torment and punishment -believe god doesn’t decide it but happens as a result of people separating themself from god BUT some say it doesnt exist due to gods omnibenevolence and believe eventually everyone will repent and be forgiven by god

The problem of evil
some say that if god is omnipotent and omnibenevolent then suffering shouldn’t exist (holocaust 11 million died) - so because of god allowing this suffering, this suggests he s not those things
Influences to help those who are suffering - give to charities if floods
some Christian’s believe god could stop suffering but chosen not to as he has given humans free will to decide between good and bad actions which makes judgement fair at the end life

Problem of evil - what are some solutions in which Christian’s believes why god allows suffering
some believe in MORAL EVIL- believe that humans brought suffering into the world (Adam) so we are punished from this and only saved through believing in Jesus
some believe in natural evil - suffering is allowed as a punishment for wrong doing and a test of faith - allows to develop agape when those are suffering
