Used to be known as the 9th planet. Found to not clear its orbit and was reclassified as a dwarf

Ceres

Found within the asteroid belt, smallest dwarf planet

Humea

Found within the kuiper belt. Unique elongated shape.

Makemake

Found within the kuiper belt. Similar in mass to pluto.

Eris

Largest dwarf planet. Its discovery was the reason we redefined what a planet was.

Solstice

The point where the sun is at the highest or lowest point in the sky. Happens twice a year.

Equinox

The point where the sun is directly above the equator. Everywhere has 12 hours of sun and 12 hours of night. Happens twice a year.

Tropic of cancer

Sun shines directly above when it's the summer solctice.

Equator

Sun shines directly above on the vernal equinox and the autumnal equinox.

Tropic of Capricorn

Sun shines directly above during the winter solstice.

Rotation

When earth spins on it’s axis, the earth spins from east to west, which causes the sun to rise and set.

Revolution

The earth revolves around the sun ever 365.25 days, every fou years we have a leap year.

Earths axis

The earth spins a full rotation every 24 hours, and is pointed at 23.5 degrees towards the north star
