Hurricanes can only form
hurricanes can only form over water that is at least 27°C and at least 70 metres deep.
Water evaporates and
water evaporates and moist air rises creating low pressure.
As the air riser it
as the air rises it cools and the water vapour condenses to form cu-mulo-nimbus clouds [Very large clouds] which rain.
Rising warm air causes
rising warm air causes the surrounding edge moving towards the low pressure.
The Coriolis effect causes the moving air
the Coriolis effect causes the when to start spiralling and spinning as it rises. This does not occur at the equator so you cannot have hurricanes at the equator.
Cool dry air
cool dry air then descends true the middle of the hurricane this is called the eye of the storm.
As the air pressure is low
as the air pressure is low where the hurricane is the sea level rises slightly. The strong winds cause big waves as well. This is called a storm surge.
