Hepatobiliary (Biliary) Study (HIDA)
(~6mCi via intravenous injection) Derivatives of Tc-99m iminodiacetic acid (Tc-99m – IDA); Tc-99m mebrofenin (used at Mayo).

Liver / Spleen Study
(~6mCi via intravenous injection) Tc-99m Sulfur Colloid.
Liver Hemangioma
(~20mCi via intravenous injection) Tc-99m labeled red blood cells (Ultra Tag method preferred).
Gastrointestinal Bleed Study
(~20mCi via intravenous injection) Tc-99m Labeled Red Blood Cells (used at Mayo, most common); Tc-99m Sulfur Colloid (uncommon).
Meckel Diverticulum Study - adult
5mCi Tc-99m Sodium Pertechnetate.
Gastric Empty (GE) only
(1mCi) 99mTc sulfur colloid incorporated into 2 eggs.
Gastric Empty and Small Bowel Transit (GE/SBT)
(1mCi) 99mTc sulfur colloid incorporated into 2 eggs.
Colonic Transit (CT) only
(80-120uCi) 111-In Chloride bound to charcoal, enclosed in a capsule coated with Eudragit S-100.
