What is the Industrial Revolution?
It took hold in the United States in New England around the 1800s. It was a time technology took hold of the United States. Factories began to grow as well.

What did the canals do to make the United States better?
It allowed travel to be faster, and allowed goods to be shipped. It brought prosperity to the towns and united the growing country.

__Robert Fulton.__ With steamboats, you could go upstream, carry goods, and carry people.

What was life like for a Mill girl?
Their life was hard because they had to leave their families.  Then they would work in a mill that was sometimes locked for more than 12 hours. The only lighting they had was candles so there might have been a lot of fires.
