Costume Journey in the Costume Shop
SPEC w/Designer → Pieces List: Pull/Buy/Build → Budgeting → Casting & Measurements → Pulling from stock → Purchases + Build Process → Fittings → Problem Solving → Tech/Dress Rehearsals → Opening Night! → Strike!
Pieces List
list all the items for each character including accessories and undergarments, specify either pull, buy, or build, for each item, budget tracking
Pulling Costumes
pulling from stock, easily accessible, many options to choose from, alterations, free, BUT labor intensive, may not have it, sizing may be incorrect
Buying Costumes
unlimited searching, fast problem solving, order many options, BUT may be costly, shipping takes time, it just doesn't exist
Building Costumes
total control and specifics, creating items that do not exist in this world, BUT time consuming, labor intensive, must have all materials
Wardrobe Team: Dresser
Member of team with specific track of actors or zone, Distributes Laundry, Runs Quick Changes, Takes notes on issues
Wardrobe Team: Wardrobe Supervisor
Oversees crew, manages problems, Communicates with Designer & Shop
Wardrobe Team: Day Crew
Comes in during day to do repairs and maintenance, May be responsible for laundry & pressing, Receives lists of issues from Wardrobe Crew
Wardrobe Team: Swing Dresser
Understudy Dresser who takes over a track responsibilities, May be one time gig, planned replacement, available all the time, May or may not have practiced running a show
Track List
List of any and all costume pieces, changes, for each actor, in sequence of the show
