administered by the Biodiversity
Management Bureau of the
244 protected areas in the Philippines
there are covering a total area of about 7,760,000 hectares (19,200,000
acres) – 15.4% of the Philippines' total area.
PROTECTED AREAS ARE:
identified portions of land and water set aside for their unique physical and biological
significance, managed to enhance biological diversity and protected against destructive
human exploitation.

is organized by the Department of Environment
and Natural Resources (DENR), as prescribed by
the NIPAS Act
PAMB undergoes three stages:
