Domain
The highest taxonomic rank in the biological classification system.
Genus
The first part of the scientific name of an organism.
Species
The second part of the scientific name of an organism.
Systematics
The study of the diversity of life and the relationships between organisms.
Archaea
One of the three domains of life, consisting of single-celled prokaryotes that often live in extreme environments.
Bacteria
One of the three domains of life, consisting of prokaryotic organisms found in various environments.
Eukarya
One of the three domains of life, consisting of organisms with eukaryotic cells.
Eubacteria
A kingdom within the domain Bacteria, encompassing common bacteria found in various environments.
Archaebacteria
A kingdom of prokaryotic organisms that live in extreme environments.
Kingdoms of Eukarya
Includes four kingdoms: Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia.
Prokaryotes
Organisms that lack a membrane-bound nucleus, including Archaea and Bacteria.
Multicellular Organisms
Organisms that consist of more than one cell, typically found in the domain Eukarya.
Extreme Environments
Habitats such as hydrothermal vents or acidic hot springs where certain organisms, like Archaea, thrive.
