What was the alliance system and how did it lead to war?
Many countries had alliances and this drew them into the conflict. They had nothing to do with the assassination. The US was against Germany, the Austrian-Hungarian Empire and the Ottoman Empire. They did enter the war until 1917.
What events led to the entrance of the United States into WWI?
The US had a number of ships that were attacked by German Submarines. Germany also sent a telegram to Mexico (Zimmerman Telegram/Note) that asked Mexico to join their side. This angered many in the US.
What were the Espionage and Sedition Acts and what did they attempt to do during WWI?
These laws made it illegal for average Americans to disagree publicly with the war. They were tested in the Supreme Court with Schenck v. The United States. The Supreme Court said that the government could restrict Freedom of Speech during the war.

Technology made the war very brutal and had a very high death toll. Industry made very technologically advanced weapons like tanks, planes, and machine guns.

The goal was to keep majority white,pure, and unadultered americans. The senator stated the should save the resources for americans. He also said the have a sufficient enough population for them to "shut the door.” The US went from “shut the door” to slowly allowing more immigrants into the US. Thye were very strict about the number s and who they let in, but they were allowing immigrants to enter the united states.
” Science v. Religion”-What did the “Scopes Monkey Trial,” say about America in the 1920s?
The case was the separation of church and state and a clash of people in cities and rural areas. It showed the difference between people from the country and people who live in cities. It showed different beliefs of everyone. In the 1920’s everyone thought their beliefs and where they were from was “correct". It also showed how wrong it was. It mattered the topic one was talking about because at one point they were saying you have freedom, but then they would tell you you have to follow a certain belief.
A Voice for the Voiceless”-Why was it so important for African Americans to find their voice in the 1920s? Why was it so difficult for African Americans to express themselves prior to the Great Migration?
Because they felt intimidated, and physically threatened just for speaking up for themselves in the south. The great migration caused people to both to northern cities that are safer which allowed them to use their voice more than in the south
” National Prohibition, a Failed Experiment”-In your assessment why did Prohibition fail? What can we learn from this in the future?
prohibition was a nationwide constitutional law that strictly prohibited the production, importation, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages. I think it failed because it did not stop people from wanting alcohol. This resulted in people selling it and all that illegally which made illegal activity rise. Some sellers also went on to selling other dangerous substances which just added more dangers.
” Prosperity and Consumerism”-Explain how people made the shift from purchasing things they need to purchase things they want.
Advertisements are what made people shift from purchasing things they need to what they want. The advertisements would use strategies that would make people feel they wanted whatever they were selling. It would catch people’s eyes or make things better than they seem. They would use famous people and use them to their advantage.
