When the claim can be proved or disproved with specific evidence.
Argument of Definition
An argument in which the claim specifies that something does or doesn't meet the conditions or features set forth in a definition
Argument of Evaluation
an argument in which the claim specifies that something does or doesn't meet established criteria
Argument of proposal
an argument deciding what should be done because of what happened
epideictic occasion
speaking that praises or blames (funeral, graduations, roasts)
forensic occasion
speaking that focuses on the past and is usually concerned with justice (court decisions, legal documents, academic studies)
