comment at the bottom of a page that provides additional information about something within the text

a basis or fact to support an idea
index
a text feature usually found in the back of abook that includes an alphabetized list of key details and concepts and the page numbers where that information goes.
table of contents
text feature usually found in th efront matter of the book that lists the chapter titles and page numbers
glossary
a text feature usually found in the back of the book that includes an alphabetized list of key terms and their definitions.
sidebars
text features that is set apart from the main body of the text; often includes additional information, charts, grafts and or images.
legend
map feature that explains symbols and other elements that represent information of the map, such as routes, population and capital cities.
subscript
small characters, usually numbers, set slightly above the line of text, used to refer reading to a footnote or endnote that provides additional information about a topic
search engine
a software tool used to locate information nline or within a digital text.
query
a question
a feature in a digital text that allows readers to search for key words and topics within a text
search term
a word or words used to find information via a search engine.
graphic
a diagram, graph or other piece of artwork
representiation
a portrayal, decision, expression, presentation, substitutions, sign or symbol or something; an artistic image or likeness.
chart
a type of diagram that graphically represents data
graph
a type of diagram that displays data mathmatically
scale
ration of distance expressed to an actual measurement

tendency toward or against a preconviced idea
