Define Cell junctions
specialized structures which contrast adjacent cells therefore helping epithilial tissues
Tight Junction
Seal between cells & prevents things from going between cells like blood brain, barrier
Adherns Junction
Connection of actin filaments of neighbouring cells, function is to maintain shape and integrity of epithilial tissue layers
Desmosome
Strong connection between anchoring filaments to provide resisstance to mechanical stress like skin and heat
Gap junnction
Exists to allow for communication, areas that require for synchronised function = cardiac muscle
Hemidesmosome
Half of a desmosome that connects to the bottom half of the cell of the basement membrane
