What factors contribute to the conservation laws?
Lepton number, baryon number, charge, strangeness
Rules for baryon conservation
+1: baryon
-1: anti-baryon
0: any non-baryon (e.g meson, lepton)
Rules for lepton conservation,
only count the same family of lepton
+1: lepton (of the same family)
-1: anti lepton (of the same family)
0: non-lepton or a lepton from a different family
Conservation of strangeness rules
Strangeness is conserved in the strong interaction, but can change by 0 or +1 or -1
What else is conserved in these interactions?
Energy and momentum
