interval notation

uses [] when <= or >=, or () when < or >. states lowest and highest like inequality and verbal. written like a point.

ex: [-5,1]

discrete

used where whole units are required.

ex: 100.83 people cannot attend a meeting.

continuous

used where having parts of a variable makes sense.

ex: working for 15.25 hours is reasonable and makes sense.
