Vacuole
Cell organelle that stores materials such as water, salts, proteins, and carbohydrates.

Mitochondria
Powerhouse of the cell

Cell membrane
This surrounds the cell and controls what materials can enter and leave the cell.

Smooth ER
This structure lacks ribosomes and packages lipids to be sent out of the cell.

Rough ER
This structure has ribosomes and is the site of protein synthesis.

Golgi apparatus
This structure sorts and packages proteins.

Chromatin
This is found in the nucleus and is made of protein and DNA. During cell division, it coils to form chromosomes.

Nucleolus
This is found in the nucleus and makes ribosomes for the cell.

Nucleus
This controls all cell activities and is where genetic information is found in the cell.

Ribosome
This is the site of protein synthesis; can be found free-floating in the cytoplasm or attached to the rough ER.

Cytoskeleton
This is made of microtubules, microfilaments, and intermediate filaments. It provides support for the cell.

Cytosol
This is the fluid that surrounds all organelles in the cytoplasm of the cell.

Centriole
The is only found in animal cells and helps with cell division.

Lysosome
An organelle containing digestive enzymes.
