What are the two types of processors?
CISC
RISC
What is a RISC processor?
Reduced Instruction Set Computer:
There is a small instruction set, each instruction approximately one line of machine code and takes one clock cycle
What is a CISC processor?
Complex Instruction Set Computer:
There is a large instruction set, aiming to accomplish tasks in as few lines of assembly code as possible. These instructions are built into the hardware

What is a multi-core system?
Multi-core CPUs have multiple independent cores that complete instructions separately, resulting in higher performance
What is a parallel system?
Completes the same task as multi-core with a single core, by using threading
What is a GPU?
Graphics Processing Unit
Why is a GPU more suited to graphics generation?
Contains thousands of independent processors dedicated for 3D graphics rendering which work in parallel, making it very efficient at completing repetitive tasks such as image processing
