Plot

The series of happenings in a literary work.

Point of View

The relation between the teller of the story and the characters in it.

Pun

A play on words; a humorous use of a word with different meanings or two or more words with the same or nearly the same sound but different meanings.

Rhyme

Exact repetition of sounds in at least the final accented syllables of two or more words.

Rhyme Scheme

The pattern of rhyme; marked by assigning a letter of the alphabet to each rhyming sound at the end of each line.

Hoi Polloi

The common people; the masses.

Hypothetical

Based on a suggested idea or theory; not real; supposed.

Iconoclast

A person who attacks or criticizes traditional beliefs or institutions.

Idiom

An expression whose meaning is not predictable from the usual meanings of its constituent elements.

Incognito

In disguise or using a false identity to avoid being recognized.

Ingenuous

Innocent, sincere, and unsuspecting.

Innocuous

Harmless; not likely to offend or injure.

Instigate

To provoke, urge on, or stir up (especially something bad).

Irascible

Easily angered; prone to temper outbursts.

Jaundiced

Affected by bitterness, resentment, or envy; or having a yellowish discoloration.
